Places to Visit

Many of you are making a trip out of our destination wedding! Here are unique recommendations that we’ve loved during our adventures in Barcelona and Girona.

  • Montjuïc Park: southwest of Barcelona, this magical park has multiple gardens, a castle, playgrounds, a massive water fountain, Museum of Archeology, and Museum of Ethnology. Great place to take walks away from the crowds.

  • Bunkers Del Carmel: the best panoramic views of Barcelona from the hills. Nearby are Spanish Civil War bunkers where anti-aircraft guns were installed. A great spot to take a snack or drink and chill with the locals. Awesome hiking too.

  • Ciutadella Park: a short walk from Arc de Triomf, this stunning park features the city zoo, the Catalan Parliament, a grand 19th-century waterfall, and museums.

Bonus tip: Don’t miss out on Mercat de la Boqueria!

Girona is a quiet and quaint city. While it’s perfect to get lost in the charm and its old town, we highly recommend going to see Sant Pere de Galligants. While you’re there you can walk over to see the Arab Baths (12th-century), Girona Cathedral, German Gardens, and the 9th-century city walls.

Bonus tip: Book a Game of Thrones walking tour in advance.
